Solange Knowles chooses Leisure song for new HBO show

Solange Knowles and Leisure.

HBO has just launched a new comedy series called Insecure and it's worth watching for many reasons, including featuring music from up and coming Kiwi band Leisure.

Beyonce's sister, Solange Knowles, is the music adviser for the show and she has just compiled a playlist that reflects some of the scenes.

Music is an integral part of the show and Knowles has chosen Got It Bad by Leisure for episode 4: Thirsty As F*** which has been released on Spotify.

The five-piece band released their first album earlier this year and are doing extremely well on the music scene in New Zealand and abroad.

They met working as producers and songwriters and a few members were originally from Kids of 88 and Goodnight Nurse.

In an interview with Viva, band member Jaden Parkes said "the first song we released, Got It Bad, is a good entry point as it has the fundamental elements we base our music on: groove, melody and vibe."

The songs you'll hear on Insecure are said to be sexy, angry, and joyful, featuring artists from Drake to D'Angelo.
