SNL has created a parody of Pepsi's much-maligned Kendall Jenner commercial with a mock behind-the-scenes skit.
The original advert featured Jenner handing a police officer a can of Pepsi as an apparent solution to tensions between protesters and authorities. It was heavily criticised, with social media users saying it capitalised on real-life protest movements such as Black Lives Matter.
In the SNL clip, cast member Beck Bennett plays the director of the advert, who last-minute decides to seek advice from a black friend on his "homage to Black Lives Matter" - and is told, "Don't even touch it".
Jenner, played by Cecily Strong, describes the commercial to a friend on the phone: "Um, I stop the police from shooting black people by handing them a Pepsi? I know, it's cute, right?"
The original commercial was retracted by Pepsi after being criticised as "tone-deaf".
