My first job was ... at Eagle Boys Pizza. Each week you would have to have a turn at getting dressed up as a giant eagle, waving a sign and dancing around on the street, encouraging customers to come buy a pizza. I was 15 and pretty shamed out, but never broke character. Ever.
It taught me … a lot, mainly about site-specific entertainment, how to embody an eagle, and never blaming your audience if you're having a bad show.
My big break came … over a lot of time and practice. I can't think of one biggie ... that might still be coming.
The last job I quit was … a full-time cafe job I had for a week many moons ago. The boss was a maniac and I couldn't take it anymore when she asked me to mop under the fridge.
The most famous person I've ever met is … Jacinda Ardern. She came to see a play I was in. A few weeks later she was the new Prime Minister and saw me at a restaurant. She came over and asked how I was and what my next projects were. I was like, "Did we just become best friends?"
