My first job was … working at Golden Wok Fish N Chip shop after school in Wellington.

It taught me … being around canola oil all the time is really bad for your skin.

My big break came … financially, I'm still waiting, but winning the Billy T Award definitely helped in terms of stand-up comedy and getting more gigs and Shadows has definitely helped in getting TV stuff since it came out.

The last job I quit was … the only office job I've ever had, which was about 10 years ago when I first moved to Auckland. It just wasn't for me. Instead I decided to be an out-of-work performer constantly struggling for the next 10 years. Great move.

The most famous person I've ever met is … Probably Harry Styles from One Direction. I met him at a party at the Sundance Festival a few years ago. Rhys Darby knew him so we chatted then got a photo with him.

He was ... really nice. I told him I had the same top he was wearing, which was a lie.

The best time I've had on set was … Probably shooting What We Do In The Shadows. It was steady work for a couple of months, plus I got to hang out with friends and laugh every day.

But the worst was … Either of the TWO times a skinhead has tried to get up on stage to have a fight with me. Shout out to Petone and Hamilton.

My dream role would be … In terms of acting, I can only really play myself. So if someone writes a movie about a Chilean comedian living in NZ who hates Ed Sheeran, I'm your man.
