Auckland concert audiences were given a taste of South America when Enrique Diemecke and Miguel Harth-Bedoya were at the helm of the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra. The highly-charged scores of Ginastera, Revueltas, Danzon and others were regularly programmed, providing musical salsa between the symphonies and concertos. Now we can relive those heady nights in the concert hall with a new CD from the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela with dynamic conductor Gustavo Dudamel.
