Auckland concert audiences were given a taste of South America when Enrique Diemecke and Miguel Harth-Bedoya were at the helm of the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra. The highly-charged scores of Ginastera, Revueltas, Danzon and others were regularly programmed, providing musicalsalsa between the symphonies and concertos. Now we can relive those heady nights in the concert hall with a new CD from the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela with dynamic conductor Gustavo Dudamel.
