Tickets for Simon and Garfunkel's one-off show at Auckland's Vector Arena in June took 17 minutes to sell out this morning.
Ten thousand reserve seats with prices of up to $369 have been sold for the June 13 date, which went on sale at 9am today. Advanced tickets for their concert also went on sale to credit card holders last week.
Promoters say there is a 50-50 chance of a second show being announced, but that won't be decided until next week.
The duo confirmed their 2009 tour earlier this month.
"We're the first and only territory in the world that Simon and Garfunkel have confirmed concerts for," Chugg Entertainment executive chairman Michael Chugg announced.
"It's been 25 years since they've been here and I'd put money on the table this will likely be the last time for us with these two legends together.
"This is probably a twice in a lifetime chance, but the last time you'll get to take it I'd say," Chugg said.
A recorded message on Ticketmaster's order line also confirms that all tickets have been sold.
Promoters also say that those on a 3000-plus strong waitlist will have first option on some tickets held in reserve, which may be released in the next few days.
Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, who last toured New Zealand and Australia in 1983, have sold more than 40 million albums in the US alone, received five Grammy Awards and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
