Not cut out for this
"This just happened and I am freaking out right now," writes a Reddit user. "I noticed a dog in the backseat of an SUV parked along my route home. It gets very hot in Arizona so I called 911 to report it. The operator said someone was on the way and asked if I could see the owner anywhere. There was no one around and the dog did not respond when I tapped on the window, so I used a rock to smash out the back window so I could rescue the dog. But it wasn't a real dog, it was a very non-real cardboard cutout of one. There were cutouts of other things too, like a kid on a bike. The car alarm went off and someone came out of a house and drew a gun on me and showed me a badge. More cops and the fire department showed up. The SUV belongs to a cop and she thought I was stealing it. The cutouts are props used in traffic safety demonstrations. Another cop took my information and let me go home and said not to leave town. I am freaking out here. I have never been in trouble with the law before. I wasn't trying to steal anything and I didn't notice the other cutouts or that the dog was one until I touched it because I wasn't wearing my glasses."
Travel warnings for visiting the US
1. Germany warns it's citizens not to get their kit off when visiting America. "It should definitely be noted that nude bathing, and even changing clothes on the beach, can be construed as indecent exposure and therefore may cause problems ... nudity - even for infants - should be avoided. The same applies to 'topless' bathing - not only of adult women, but also of little girls". And also warns of America's sometimes odd attitudes toward breastfeeding: "Breastfeeding babies in public is now considered an exception to 'indecent exposure', but it would be best treated like any other nudity, at least in restaurants and bars, or in less 'liberal' regions".
2. Russia's travel advice has a dig at capitalism: "The 'American dream' originates from here, as does another model - the special democratic character of American society with its 'incredible freedom'. However, due to the presence of the 'young aristocracy' and the specific model of American society, inequalities in socio-economic status between rich and poor are no lesser than in any other country in the world."
