End of innocence
Event Cinemas in Innaloo, Western Australia made a teensy, tiny mistake before an airing of the PG-rated family film Peter Rabbit by including a trailer for the upcoming R-rated movie Hereditary, which some at this year's Sundance Film Festival called one of the scariest movies ever. The trailer features many things that you probably wouldn't classify as PG like: a boy with ants running all over his face; a man on fire; a boy smashing his head on a desk until it bleeds; lots of Toni Collette screaming.
"It was dreadful," a witness named Jane told the Sydney Morning Herald. "Very quickly you could tell this was not a kid's film. Parents were yelling at the projectionist to stop, covering their kids' eyes and ears," she said.
You little rotter
The pungent smell of rotten durian fruit at an Australian university library was mistaken for a gas leak, prompting an evacuation of the building at the weekend.
