Sick BBC weatherman flees live broadcast

A weatherman in the United Kingdom had an embarrassing moment when he was forced to flee the studio after falling ill live on air.

BBC Radio 4 weather presenter Tomasz Schafernaker was reading the weather when he suddenly became sick.

Schafernaker attempted to keep reading while trying to hold it in, before eventually mumbling "excuse me" and rushing from the room.

Another newsreader finished the weather broadcast for him.

While there was speculation that Schafernaker was hungover after a work Christmas party, he made no mention of why he was sick when apologising on Facebook.

It's the first time in 91 years that the shipping forecast was interrupted, according to the Daily Mail.

However, it is not the first time Schafernaker has made headlines for an on-air incident.

He caused controversy for referring to the Outer Herbides and Western Isles as "nowheresville" and was caught on camera giving the middle finger to a colleague.

The BBC hasn't commented on Schafernaker's latest incident.
