Deep Purple rocker Glenn Hughes has been given a clean bill of health after falling ill and leaving last night's Deep Purple show in Christchurch early.
Hughes gave concert-goers a scare when he was taken to hospital after falling ill during the final part of his Classic Deep Purple Live! concert at Horncastle Arena.
Hughes was reportedly been taken off stage by paramedics, with concert attendee Graeme Pillidge saying he could no longer stand up.
Promoters released a statement today saying Hughes was kept in hospital overnight for observation and examined by doctors this morning.
"It was determined that Mr Hughes was suffering dehydration and fatigue. His concert tour will continue as scheduled."
