FremantleMedia has announced the first international adaptation of one of New Zealand's longest-running daily dramas.
Fast-paced, hospital-based drama Shortland Street has not only been converted into a Ukrainian version, but launched earlier this month as Ukraine's number one show of the day amongst total viewers and those aged 18-54.
Central Hospital, produced by 1+1 Productions, has already sold as a tape to broadcasters in Georgia and Kazakhstan.
The initial series comprises 60 episodes and will focus on the life of the young and able surgeon Margarita Sergeevna, as well as the doctors and patients of the fictitious hospital.
