KEY POINTS:
He's on the cover of Australian Rolling Stone. She has just been named a dancing star.
Kiwis Alan Brough and Cal Wilson are scaling Australia's celebrity ladder these days, but who remembers where they started out?
Cast your mind back to 1993, when an unknown Brough first appeared on the small screen as Brendan, Belinda Todd's bumbling sidekick on the atrocious Melody Rules.
If that doesn't stir the memory banks, try this one: He later donned a floral dress and bad wig to play the evil Marge on those classic 90s butter ads. Life has gone uphill from those ignominious beginnings, with Brough featuring on Kath and Kim, before signing on to co-host the hit music quiz show Spicks and Specks - which landed him on last month's Rolling Stone cover.
Meanwhile, Wilson once the inaugural Billy T Award winner - has also moved on from the days of Skitz (another terrible TV3 comedy), Pulp Comedy and Street Legal (on which she played the slightly odd receptionist). These days, Wilson can be heard hosting drive radio on Nova FM and soon she will appear as a ballroom belle, on Australia's next season of Dancing With the Stars.
