Shia LaBeouf set off smoke alarms in a US museum when he lit a cigarette in the bathroom.
The 21-year-old actor received a stern lecture and warning from officials at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, in Washington D.C, after attempting to smoke in the bathroom while filming his new movie Transformers 2.
When he realised he had set off the alarm, Shia tried to get rid of the evidence by flushing the nicotine stick down the toilet, according to the National Enquirer magazine.
Guards at the museum warned the actor he will be banned from the premises if he is caught lighting up again.
This is not the first time Shia has been in trouble with the law for his smoking habits.
In February, Shia was forced to pay a $500 fine after lighting up in a non-smoking area in Burbank, California.
Transformers 2 which sees Shia reunited with FHM's Sexiest Woman in the World winner Megan Fox is set for release in June 2009.
