Charlie Sheen has sold his profit participation rights to comedy series Two and a Half Men for nearly US$27 million (NZ$40 million).
The figure is included in a document filed on Wednesday in Sheen's divorce from ex-wife Brooke Mueller.
The actor is seeking to change the US$55,000 a month he pays in child support for the pair's twin boys, citing what he calls a significant change in his income.
Sheen's filing estimates a cut in his monthly income from more than US$600,000 a month down to nearly US$167,000 as a result of selling the profit rights to Two and a Half Men, which was once television's highest-rated comedy. The filing states Sheen sold the rights within the past year.
Sheen and Mueller ended their marriage in 2011 after less than three years.
