Dimmer and former Straitjacket Fits frontman Shayne Carter is dusting off his older material and taking it on the road.
Under the tour title The Last Train To Brockville, Carter and the rhythm section of bassist Vaughan Williams and drummer Gary Sullivan is playing two shows from the Fits era and dating back to his days in early Flying Nun Dunedin bands Bored Games and Double Happys.
The gigs were inspired by an earlier delve into his past at a 2009 benefit show for Chris Knox.
"I was pleasantly surprised by how well so much of that material stood up," says Carter, "Good tunes and a lot of fun to play. I'm really looking forward to busting out that stuff again."
Carter and co will perform on Friday May 6 at Wellington's Bodega and on Saturday May 14 Auckland's Kings Arms.
