Sharon Osbourne didn't know about Ozzy's drug relapse

Sharon Osbourne "didn't realise the extent" of her husband Ozzy Osbourne's problems with prescription drugs.

The Talk co-host is "devastated" that the 64-year-old rocker has relapsed and has been abusing drugs and alcohol over the past 18 months but she has no plans to divorce him.

Speaking on the CBS chat show on Tuesday (23.04.13) after returning to Los Angeles from a week away in Mexico, the 60-year-old star said: "He said he's been using alcohol and prescription drugs for the last year and a half.

"And that he's been an a** and he's been in a very dark place. That's true. That's very true.

"I never knew he was using prescription drugs. I knew he was drinking occasionally but I didn't realise the extent."

However, the mother-of-three insisted she has no plans to walk away from their marriage.

She said: "We're not getting divorced. However, am I happy? No. Am I upset? Yes I am. I'm devastated right now.

"It's a disease that not only hurts the person that has the disease but it hurts the family. It hurts people who love you. We're dealing with it. We've dealt with worse. We're dealing with it and this too shall pass."

She then jokingly added: "Otherwise, my husband will be taken to hospital to get my foot removed from his ***."

Last week Ozzy used his Facebook page to issue a public apology to Sharon and his other loved ones, including their children Aimee, Kelly and Jack, for his "insane" behaviour in recent months.

He wrote: "For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an a*****e to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober.

"Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing. I'm just trying to be a better person.

"I would like to apologise to Sharon, my family, my friends and my band mates for my insane behaviour during this period.........and my fans. God Bless, Ozzy (sic)"
