Daisey Ridley as Rey and John Boyega as Finn, in a scene from the new film, Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, directed by J.J. Abrams.
In a semi-regular feature we'll be running until The Force Awakens is unleashed on December 17, here's our wrap of all the Star Wars things that happened today.
1. NO SPOILERS!
Avoiding Star Wars spoilers just got a whole lot easier with a browser extension that keeps you away from anything to do with Force Awakens. If you just can't resist, there is the option to "Proceed Anyway". Hopefully, it doesn't block this article.
Speaking of spoilers, Mark Hamill, aka Luke Skywalker, who is mysteriously absent from all the Force Awakens trailers we've seen so far, has revealed that "there are lots of surprises in this movie" in an interview with Empire magazine. The Star Wars star also hinted that he had filmed some solo scenes on Skellig Michael island in Ireland.
3. Is there such a thing as too much Star Wars?
If you don't have time to watch all the Star Wars trailers, now you do! The Independent thoughtfully combined all the Force Awakes trailers and teasers into one intense video. It's nothing short of a Star Wars overload. Watch the video for yourself here.
4. Behind the scenes with Rey
A quiet TV promo spot takes a closer look at one of The Force Awakens star characters, Rey, played by Daisy Ridley. The clip, which you can watch below, shows a few of the creatures, more of the adorable BB-8 and a bit more about Rey's backstory and how she fits into the Star Wars universe.
5. Boyega's freaking out
According to an interview with Deadline.com, John Boyega, who will appear as a Stormtrooper named Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, revealed he and the movie's director JJ Abrams share concerns over how it will be received. "I think for now, based on what I saw, and based on my experiences on the set, I just don't know." says Boyega.
"This is a discussion I was having with JJ yesterday and I was just like, 'How are people going to react to this movie?' But there's going to be a reaction for sure. I'm going to try to see it as many times as possible with different audiences just to gauge everyone's opinions of it." Guess we'll all have to wait till the release day to find out!
