Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett has told Australian Prime Minister John Howard and Labor leader Kevin Rudd they should be working much harder to combat climate change.
The 38-year-old actor urged Australians to make global warming an election issue this year. Blanchett was in Brisbane to launch the Australian Conservation Foundation's online campaign whoonearthcares.com.
The star said she leads by example, having fitted out the family home in Sydney with a water tank and solar panels.
