KEY POINTS:
Several Scientology centres in the US were sent envelopes containing mysterious white powder yesterday.
The envelopes are said to have been sent to Church of Scientology locations in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas, prompting several street closures and evacuations.
A total of 19 Scientology locations were targeted, and investigations are now being conducted to find out who sent the packages.
Initial tests revealed the powder was harmless.
OK, so Scientology scares the bejesus out of most of us, but terrorism stinks.
Yes, we may mock and hold them in contempt, but terrorise? Nope.

Scientology stalwart Kirstie Alley has set her lawyers loose on celebrity magazine US Weekly, demanding it fires one of its fashion critics for making a joke about Alley's religion.
In the January 7 issue of the magazine, while critiquing the blinding silver suit Nicole Kidman wore to the premier of her flick the Golden Compass, fashionista Danico Lo quipped that her specially designed suit "repels Scientologists."
Kirstie's lawyer Barry Felsen says: "Ms. Lo should be discharged for her narrow-minded comment. You should apologize and commit to a thorough examination of why you have chosen to foster animosity and bias against Scientologists."
Oh, come one. That's just plain ridiculous.

Wino in hospital
All is not well on planet Winehouse.
The jazz pixie was rushed to hospital and put on a drip yesterday as she continues her struggle to beat drug addiction, reports claim.
British tabloid The Sun says Winehouse, 24, was dangerously dehydrated as she goes cold turkey, and was carted off to a private London clinic under a private name.
A source says: "Amy was looking very pale and thin.
"She looked ropey and exhausted. Let's hope she hasn't taken a turn for the worse."
Wino's father Mitch has already said how his detoxing daughter is suffering "horrific" withdrawal symptoms while inside the Capio Nightingale hospital.
He said: "Amy is OK. She is making progress but will be in rehab for a long time."
Meanwhile, the newspaper's own columnist doctor said: "Going on a drip is a sign that things have got pretty bad.
"Crack is notoriously difficult to get off."

Gurney gals
Nirvana widow Courtney Love has been spouting off about Britney Spears again.
But this time she opened her mouth and, amazingly enough, her words made sense. Well, either that or I've learned how to decode her gibberish.
Love spoke to Access Hollywood about Spears and said she "knows exactly what Brit's going through", because she has been there herself.
Love said, "I know exactly what's going on, having been there. If she doesn't get help something very, very bad is gonna happen. Marilyn Monroe was strapped to a gurney too, but, other than me and Britney, no one's ever been strapped to a gurney."
Now that's definitely something to be proud of.
Love also said Spears needs to embrace her bi-polarity and live with it, "It has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt it's a genetic condition and it's a disease. It's a part of our brain that doesn't care about consequences, it doesn't care if our children are gonna be taken away."
