"(My marriage) wasn't that long ago. But I think I've had a fair amount of time to process the experience and be able to move forward. I continue to get to know myself better as I get older, and that helps me in my relationships."
Johansson is currently dating 30-year-old French creative agency manager Romain Dauriac. She has recently discussed her plans to become a mother within the next ten years, as well as her latest project in which she directs an adaptation of Truman Capote's Summer Crossing.
Johansson is unfazed by working behind the camera, explaining her other life plan would take much more preparation.
"It's not really new territory for me, I've been in this industry for 20 years. It's all I've known since I was eight years old," she told UK Glamour magazine.
"(In a decade's time) I'd like to be directing and maybe have a family. Yeah directing and a family, that would be great."
As well as turning her hand to directing, the star has a talent for singing. She's formed a band with a couple of her girlfriends and they plan to make their music public in the future.
"We have a few tracks we'll release at some point," she revealed.
Johansson is known for being a party girl and often beats the boys during a drinking session. Next year, she will reprise her role as Black Widow in The Avengers sequel, alongside a mostly male cast that includes Jeremy Renner and Robert Downey Jr.
"I can't complain (about working on the Avengers), but you're talking about a group of actors, they're more sensitive than I am," she laughed. "(My party trick is) drinking more than everybody else."
Johansson reflected on her life in the public eye so far. She shared what advice she'd give to her younger self a decade ago.
"Take photos! I never do and I've ended up with no pictures of my life at all," she reflected.
"Aside from that, I wouldn't interfere too much. At that age you experience everything with wide eyes and blissful ignorance - and you never get that back."
