The Reverend Al Green is on his way to New Zealand for the very first time.
With a career spanning more than 40 years the American singer is most famous for slinky smooth soul tunes like, Let's Stay Together, Tired of Being Alone and I'm Still In Love With You.
He plays Auckland's Civic Theatre on January 21 with his 12-piece backing band.
On the local front this year's Silver Scroll winner Lawrence Arabia is off on a national tour in December, including a show at Auckland's Monte Cristo Room on December 22. The feelers also hit the road with the Jordan Luck Band and the Earlybirds on the Blue Skies Summer Tour which takes in 12 dates starting at Hamilton's Altitude on December 18 and finishing at the Powerstation in Auckland on January 9.
And finally, The Handsome Family, made up of husband and wife duo Brett and Rennie Sparks, play five shows in New Zealand early next year with a show at the Monte Cristo Room on January 27.
