looks as though it's done the decent thing and put us all out of our misery - LiLo and Sam Ro are apparently no more.

LiLo has just confirmed to E! news that she and Sam are "taking a brief break so I can focus on myself." Her announcement comes after a bumpy weekend for the troubled star.

Some major drama reportedly unfolded at the tail end of last week between the warring ladies of perpetual displeasure - the culmination of which led to Ronson banning LiLo from attending a bash at a trendy LA venue, and locking her out of her house - literally.

Let's rewind.

Word is that the proverbial started brewing after a blistering row between the ladies last week, according to people.co.uk.

Hours after the war of words on Friday night, melodrama unfolded outside Bar Marmont, Hollywood, where Sam was DJ-ing at a party for her fashion designer sister, Charlotte Ronson.

Things went south when Lohan tried to gatecrash the party, but was reportedly "held back at the door by five bouncers," reports

Snitches tell the magazine that the bouncers were under strict instructions to "look out for Lindsay" and "not to let her in under any circumstances."

The same snitch says that before the party began, the Ronson clan had gone to great lengths to keep Lohan out. "Unless Lindsay rams a truck through the red carpet or skydives in, she won't be here."

But that didn't stop lovelorn Lohan from making an appearance.

"She decided to try and crash the party and had a huge hissy fit when she wasn't allowed in," an onlooker says.

"Lindsay was shouting, 'But you've all known me for so long' to the staff.

"She was furious and caused a right scene."

And to rub salt into the wound, LiLo's arch enemy

was reportedly partying away inside the venue with man candy

and fellow airhead

Nicole Richie

. "Everyone at the party was gossiping about the ban. It was hugely humiliating," adds the snitch.

The source added: "Sadly it looks over for good.

"Sam's not returning Lindsay's calls and has left her heartbroken."

Gatecrashing's becoming a bit of a theme for LiLo. The leotard-clad gal popped up on Lily Allen's stage last week and hogged the limelight as the Brit belted out a cover of Britney Spears'

For reasons known only to herself, LiLo appeared stage right and proceeded to waft around the singer, flailing her arms and behaving like a total tool. Good thing is Allen saw fit to turn her back on the crazed creature, and it soon went back from whence it came.
