Sam Wallace 'subtle as a sledgehammer' with phallic water spout

Sam Wallace has caused another hilarious stir after pointing out something a little risque in this morning's weather report.

Talking about a water spout, which appeared over north Auckland on Wednesday, the Breakfast weatherman said: "When you take a step back, is there anything else you see in this picture?"

Fellow presenter Rawdon Christie instantly said: "Sam you didn't have to say that. It's about as subtle as a sledgehammer, mate".

Sam seems pretty pleased with his phallic discovery - probably didn't help that Melissa cracked up laughing.

But Melissa Stokes was in fits of laughter upon seeing the phallic-shaped weather phenomena for the first time.

Wallace looked pleased as punch, appraising the picture as having "a lot of detail, well captured".
