Salmonella Dub reunites with Tiki Taane

Tiki Taane is rejoining Salmonella Dub for three summer shows.

Tiki Taane left Salmonella Dub more than 10 years ago to go it alone but for three shows next summer, he's back in the band.

Taane is rejoining the dub act for a summer tour to celebrate the band's 25th anniversary.

They're set to play New Year's festival Northern Bass on December 31, Hagley Park in Christchurch on January 13 and Taupo's Delany Park on February 3.

Taane said he was happy to participate in the anniversary shows.

"To be able to help my old band mates celebrate 25 years of Salmonella Dub is a glorious prospect and probably a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence," Taane said.

That's not all: founding member Andrew Penman says the shows will include an eight-piece band and an "audio-visual, bass heavy, back catalogue mash-up" with plenty of guest appearances.

Taane joined Salmonella Dub in 1996 and sang on many of their most popular songs, including Love Your Ways, Dancehall Girl and Push on Thru.

Taane left in 2006 and has released four solo albums, scoring a No. 1 hit in 2008 with his acoustic ballad Always on My Mind.

Salmonella Dub released two albums without Taane, including 2007's Heal Me and 2009's Freak Controller.
