Sad George Lucas snapped eating noodles

It's a long way from the Skywalker Ranch in California to a food court in Adelaide but George Lucas looks as much at home with a plate of noodles as in an editing suite.

The famed film-maker was snapped taking a break with some food and a newspaper by a local student, who was clearly enjoying the sight.

Gabrielle Fusco wasted no time posting the pic on Twitter on Wednesday, saying: "that moment u realise Jar Jar Binks was an abomination, and your noodles have gone cold #GeorgeLucas #Adelaide".

The photo had fans quickly asking if 'sad George Lucas' might overtake 'sad Keanu Reeves' as a new meme.

The 71-year-old director is apparently in town to support his wife, Mellody Hobson, the president of Ariel Investments and the key speaker at the Conference of Major Super Funds.

It's not known if he'll be scouting any locations while he's in the country.
