Crowe made the stunning claim during a radio interview on Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie on Monday morning.
Referring to a text exchange with Rogan before the interview, the Gladiator actor told host Fitzy about his surprise at Rogan’s request for such a lengthy interview.
“He goes, ‘We’ll chat for about three hours'. And I’m like, ‘Three hours? No, you won’t'. That’s kind of ridiculous.
“And then you get in there and that’s what he fully intends. But once you’re there you have to sign a thing that you’re not going to leave until the chat is over,” Crowe said.
Actress Leah Remini appeared on the show in January 2017 to discuss her connection to Scientology and how the church’s documents aren’t particularly accessible.
She then went on to reference how “you just sign things, sign here, sign here”, before comparing it to the forms Rogan’s team made her sign before going to air.
“Like today, what you did here. I don’t know, I could be married to you for all I know, [because] of what I signed today,” she said.
“They took it down on YouTube, but so many people said, ‘I don’t want to listen to it that way (on Spotify)’, so they had to put it back on ... and it gets millions [of views],” he said.
“It was funny because it reintroduced me to that younger male audience … and then they all collectively went, ‘I like that guy’s movies'.
“It was a really interesting social media thing where a few weeks afterwards, everyone was going back and checking out [my] old stuff.”

On Rogan’s podcast, the New Zealand-born actor appeared to shed his notoriously private facade and candidly shared his personal views on American politics.
“It’s picking a colour and no matter what happens under the banner of that colour, you’re sticking with the colour,” he said.
Crowe also called out “aggressive” media outlets for driving genuine potential politicians and presidential candidates away from the world of politics.
“You’re just not going to get people of quality stepping into that world anymore. There’s probably hundreds of potentially incredible presidents in this country, but they’re too smart to walk that way.”
Rogan’s lash to ABC boss
The controversial podcaster made Australian headlines in recent weeks after responding to a spray from ABC boss Kim Williams, who referred to him as a predator of “people’s vulnerabilities”.
Rogan responded to the criticism overnight with a tweet on X. Sharing a clip of Williams’ rant, he said, “LOL WUT”.
