KEY POINTS:
Nicole Kidman learned how to round up cattle and castrate bulls in preparation for her latest movie role, according to a British newspaper.
"I don't know if I'll have to do that, but it's best to be prepared," Kidman told the Daily Mail of her newly acquired skills ahead of filming on location for Baz Luhrmann's World War II epic, Australia.
In the film, Kidman plays an English aristocrat who travels to Australia after inheriting a cattle station.
It's a far cry from her appearance on the red carpet in a dramatic scarlet gown at the Oscars.
"In seven weeks, I'll be riding a horse and chasing young bulls," Kidman said.
