Rose McIver's iZombie gets second helping of brains

Rose McIver is Liv in iZombie.

Rose McIver has reason to celebrate today - the Kiwi actress' hit zombie show has been renewed for a second season.

The show, which airs on The CW network in American and airing TVNZ's OnDemand at home, was today extended to a second season, Deadline reports. It will screen on TV2 later this year.

On Twitter, McIver celebrated by thanking the show's fans.

iZombie stars McIver as Liv, a zombie girl moonlighting as a human who works in a medical examiner's office so she has easy access to brains.

The more brains she eats, the less zombie-like she looks.

It's one of several zombie-themed shows on TV at the moment, including The Walking Dead, In the Flesh, Z Nation and Helix.
