Keating has chosen the sleeve notes of his new album
Duet
to issue an apology to his wife and pay tribute to her for helping him while he was in a "dark place".
The singer writes: "You are the most incredible, inspirational woman I have ever met.
"For the mistakes I have made in my life, I am sorry. Guess you have to go there to come back. It was a dark place and you were the light to bring me back. I love you."
Soon after their split, Yvonne announced plans for a divorce. A few months later there were rumours of a reconciliation, bolstered by snaps of the pair
indulging in a spot of PDA
while in Sydney - where Keating's been working on the
X Factor
.
Cancer scare
Jane Fonda
had revealed she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
The veteran actress and fitness guru, 72, found a small tumour in her breast a few weeks ago during a routine checkup,
she told
Entertainment Tonight
.
She says the cancer turned out to be non-invasive, and had a procedure to remove the tumour a few days ago, and is now cancer free.
Fonda wants to assure her fans that she's "fine" and will continue promotional work for her new fitness DVDs.

Phil's dark thoughts
Former Genesis crooner
Phil Collins
has admitted to having suicidal thoughts in a dark interview with
Rolling Stone
magazine.
"I wouldn't blow my head off. I'd overdose or do something that didn't hurt," he said.
"But I wouldn't do that to the children. A comedian who committed suicide in the '60s left a note saying,'Too many things went wrong too often.' I often think about that."
Collins also said he has grown increasingly uncomfortable with fame and celebrity.
"I sometimes think I'm going to write this Phil Collins character out of the story," he says. "Phil Collins will just disappear or be murdered in some hotel bedroom and people will say, 'What happened to Phil?' And the answer will be, 'He got murdered, but yeah, anyway, let's carry on.' That kind of thing."
Give the guy a hug.
Jessica Simpson
'happy' for
Nick Lachey
Heard the one about
Jessica Simpson
supposedly spitting tacks and packing a sad over her ex-hubby
Nick Lachey
's recent engagement
Vanessa Minnillo
.
Rumour had it Simpson was "saddened" by the engagement news.
"I don't know where all those rumors came from ... I couldn't be more happy for Nick," Simpson told
Ryan Seacrest
on his radio show.
Simpson is currently loved-up and dating former NFL player
Eric Johnson
.
"Our relationship was over a really long time ago, and it would be nice if everyone could move on with us and really just celebrate the love between him and Vanessa."
"I am extremely, extremely happy for him," Simpson said. "I really wish them nothing but the best."
No Bond at play
Sources say
Bond
actor
Daniel Craig
doesn't have anything to do with the recent split between Black Swan director
Darren Aranofsky
and
Rachel Weisz
.
The couple announced their split after nine years together this week.
Speculation spread that the split was catalysed by a supposed dalliance between Weisz and her Dream House co-star Craig. The pair was reported to have grown "close" while filming the movie earlier this year.
But a source tells E! Online: "Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz have been friends since their theater years when they were younger. They are the best of friends, but not lovers."
Something for the weekend...

The movie picks up ten years after the first movie, and sees Greg Focker (

Robert De Niro
) circle of trust. Momentarily...
Owen Wilson
,
Blythe Danner
,
Teri Polo
,
Dustin Hoffman
and
Barbra Streisand

Can't help but feel a little bit 'Meh!' about that, to be honest.
