Young singer Pixie Lott and veteran performer Rod Stewart, have been scalded online for smiling and laughing during a Festival of Remembrance.
The singers had earlier taken the limelight during the event which honoured those who fought and lost their lives in conflicts.
Stewart, 70, crooned new song called Way Back Home, while 24-year-old Lott donned a red dress to perform A Nightingale Sang and Kiss me Goodnight Sergeant Major in Berkeley Square.
The trouble began when they took their place in the choir to sing hymns such as Great is Thy Faithfulness.
"[She] is involved with The Royal British Legion in various ways every year as it means so much to her and her family."
This was a particularly important year - marking a number of significant anniversaries in UK military history, including the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
Among those present was the Queen, joined in her Royal Box by Prince Philip, Kate Middleton and Prince William.
Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha were nearby, as was Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Seemingly oblivious to the social media storm she created, Lott posted her own reaction to the event on Twitter, saying she was: "remembering those who fought with us, including my family members."
She also posted an image of herself with Stewart after the service with the hashtag #lestweforget.
