Look out Queenstown, one of rock'n'roll's bad boys is heading your way for New Year's Eve. Motley Crue drummer and, believe it or not, dance music fan, Tommy Lee (pictured), is on the bill for the EarthTonz NYE Music Festival on December 31 to January 1.
Lee, together with sidekick DJ Aero, will perform a multimedia DJ show where they manipulate sound and visuals live and come up with a dirty electro-house set that's mixed with everything from hip hop to techno.
The festival, to be held at Gibbston Valley Station, also includes big beating Americans the Crystal Method, British break beat band The Freestylers, Cypress Hill DJ and producer DJ Muggs, and many more acts from around the world in the dance and electronic realm. Tickets on sale August 15 from Ticketek.
As rumoured last week, Britain's Moody Blues play at Wellington's Michael Fowler Centre on November 27, and the Civic in Auckland on November 28. Tickets to the Auckland show on sale at buytickets.co.nz on August 15. Also, former UB40 front man Ali Campbell returns to Rotorua's Raggamuffin Festival as next year's headline act. The festival is on January 28 and nine other international and local acts on the bill will be announced in coming weeks.
