Rock legend David Crosby has seriously wounded a jogger after hitting him with his car.
The 73-year-old was driving near his home in Santa Ynez when he struck the 46-year-old male at a speed of 55mph, according to TMZ.
The victim survived and his life injuries were not thought tobe life-threatening.
However he had to be airlifted to hospital after suffering 'multiple fractures, abrasions and lacerations', according to the California Highway Patrol report.
According to police, the singer/songwriter was travelling at the speed limit of 55mph when the accident occurred, just before 6pm on Sunday.
He stopped immediately to see if the runner was okay. Officers also confirmed he was not under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, the website reports.
He had been driving his black Tesla westbound on Baseline Avenue in the Californian wine country when he suddenly came upon the jogger, named as Jose Jimenez.
The CHP are still investigating into what caused the crash, but officers reported that Crosby claimed he was momentarily blinded by sun glare and dint see Jimenez running on the right hand side of the road.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee - who is a long time resident of the Santa Ynez Valley - is perhaps most famous for the collaboration work he did with Stephen Stills and Graham Nash, collectively known as Crosby, Stills & Nash.
