KEY POINTS:
Actress Greer Robson was voted off TVNZ's Dancing With the Stars last night in a nail-biting elimination.
Robson and infomercial queen Suzanne Paul found themselves in the "bottom two" after receiving the lowest scores. "It's been an amazing journey," said Robson, who praised dance partner Aaron Gilmore.
The four remaining couples performed two dances each - one latin and one ballroom.
Greer pulled in 26 votes out of a possible 40 from the judges for her jive and 28 for her quickstep. But it just wasn't enough. Judge Carol-Ann Hickmore said her jive was "a bit stiff".
Former Tall Black Brendon Pongia wowed the judges with his waltz and scored a perfect 10 from both Hickmore and Alison Leonard. He scored a whopping 38 and Hickmore described his performance as "absolutely beautiful".
Craig Revel-Horwood, known for his biting comments, liked it. He said Pongia and his dance partner Hayley Holt "looked like lovers".
Pongia also performed a feisty paso doble in a matador-inspired outfit and scored 28. But he received mixed comments from the judges.
Brendan Cole said: "In terms of getting emotionally involved, you hit it 100 per cent. A few dodgy moments ... but well done." Revel-Horwood, though, said: "It was more like a boxing match."
Singer and NZ Idol judge Megan Alatini executed her moves with confidence and ease, scoring 32 for her paso doble and 34 for her quickstep.
Before launching into her rumba, Suzanne Paul said she wanted to show 50-year-old women they could be hot and sexy. She said her rumba would start rumours she was having a "mad, passionate" affair with dance partner Stefano Olivieri. However, the judges weren't convinced. "It looked like you have been through a divorce and had to dance," said Revel-Horwood.
HIDE'S VERDICT
The critical view of Rodney Hide, voted off last year after dropping his dance partner Krystal Stuart.
Best performance
TVNZ take a bow. Dancing With the Stars just keeps getting better and better. The best performance was Megan and Jonny's paso doble. That was a fabulous dance, filled with passion, energy and excitement.
Biggest embarrassment?
No one ever embarrasses themselves on this show. Everyone who turns up and gives us their best is a winner. I take my hat off to them.
Hottest looking?
Candy Lane! But, of the couples, Megan and Jonny sizzle. They are hot.
Trickiest dance move?
Aaron and Greer's wrap-around-the-back move in the Jive. How did they do that? Fantastic.
Best judge's comment?
Carol-Ann wanting to push out Hayley and dance with Brendon - and Craig
saying he did too.
Right decision?
Having Jason Gunn host the show. He's fabulous on camera - and off.
