Robert Pattinson and Katy Perry enjoyed a trip to Santa Barbara together over the weekend.

The Twilight Saga hunk and the Firework singer - who are both single since splitting from Kristen Stewart and John Mayer respectively - puzzled onlookers when they were spotted checking out the wedding rehearsal of two strangers at San Ysidro Ranch, not far from where Katy grew up.

Rehearsal guest Stephanie Sands told People.com: "Katy and Rob were just sitting next to each other watching the wedding rehearsal in the main courtyard area. They were dressed very casually. She was wearing a hoodie and big sunglasses. There was no PDA [public display of affection] between them and no body language that showed they were dating. They just sat together and watched.

"They were not affiliated with the wedding party and were not seen mingling with guests."

It was recently claimed Robert, 27, has never been happier since splitting with Kristen.

A source said: "Rob has never felt so free. He no longer has to feel weighted by a girlfriend. Instead of being bummed that his relationship hit a wall, Rob is simply glad to only have to be in charge of himself."

"Through the years, Kristen definitely became too dependent on him.

"Kristen keeps blowing up his phone but he's not trying to get dragged back into the past, so he's not really picking up."
