Revealed: New Zealand's social media power players

Spy.co.nz has ranked New Zealand's social media power players with surprising results.

New Zealand's savviest social media stars have been revealed by Spy.co.nz with some surprising results.

While the top spot predictably went to Lorde, thanks to her whopping 6.8 million followers on Instagram and Twitter combined, the rest of the list reveals some interesting insights into the country's biggest influencers.

Beauty vlogger Shannon Harris, aka Shaaanxo, claimed the second spot with 1.15 million followers, while fellow YouTube sensation Jamie Curry of Jamie's World fame, came in third.

The rest of the list comprises sports stars, actors, models, musicians and broadcasters - but not in the order you might expect.

Comedian and former Flight of the Conchords star Rhys Darby comes in eighth place - with more than 228,000 followers - while his former co-star Jemaine Clement ranked 12 places behind him at 20.

And what would social media be without reality TV stars? Matilda Rice and her Bachelor Art round off the list at number 25, shutting out their fellow Bachelor co-stars once again.
