A British rapper who got a tattoo of a hashtag under his right eye has defended the unusual art, saying he did it so he'd "trend forever".
Dappy, a former member of the London-based hip-hop trio N-Dubz, got the tattoo earlier this year, reported The Mirror.
It created much feedback on Twitter, but Dappy turned to the social networking site - which pioneered the use of hashtags to promote trending topics - to defend his tattoo.
He posted a grainy close-up picture of the tattoo, and said it would "trend forever".
