Rap star Lil Yachty made to 'rate' Kiwi women in radio game

International rap star Lil Yachty was made to "rate" the physical attractiveness of a host of prominent Kiwi women by a local radio station.

The artist, who was in the country for a concert at Auckland's Powerstation on Tuesday night, made an appearance on Mai FM on Tuesday where he played their game "Hottie or Nottie".

The game saw presenters print off photos of the likes of Maria Tutaia, Valerie Adams, Naz Khanjani and even their own presenter Lily Taurau, and give them to the rapper, whose real name is Miles Parks McCollum, to "rate".

In a video which was posted to the station's website and social media, McCollum appeared visibly uncomfortable with the game, answering "she's very pretty" despite being prompted to answer with the "Hottie or Nottie" options.

Eventually he simply said: "Everyone is beautiful", to which the presenters laughed over his attempts to give a "diplomatic" answer.

At the end of the video, McCollum stared around the room at his team with a look of confusion and even one of the presenters admitted the rapper was clearly stunned by the "game".

The video and social media posts were deleted after numerous commenters condemned the segment.

This morning Lily Taurau addressed the incident on air saying it was offensive, sexist, degrading and outdated, and women "deserve better from us here at Mai"; "It's 2017 and...we need to set a better example of how we treat women".
