Actress Rachel McAdams will star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in Marvel's upcoming film Doctor Strange.
McAdams made the announcement at the Toronto International Film Festival, confirming rumours she had landed an unspecified role back in July, TheWrap reports.
Directed by Scott Derrickson, Doctor Strange will be a departure from the Marvel Cinematic Universe's usual superhero fanfare with Benedict's neurosurgeon-turned-sorcerer Stephen Strange introducing mysticism to the universe.
The film will also star Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave) as supervillain Baron Mordo and Tilda Swinton (The Grand Budapest Hotel) as Strange's mentor The Ancient One.
Doctor Strange is slated to premiere in November, 2016, taking place after the events of the upcoming Captain America: Civil War.
