Laura McGoldrick's biggest fan - her husband Martin Guptill - will tune in from India tomorrow to watch her debut on a groundbreaking digital news show.
The Black Cap was last week called by the Indian Premier League to replace injury-hit batsman Lendl Simmons for the Mumbai Indians franchise.
But Guptill will be setting his alarm clock for an early rise in Mumbai to see his wife co-present the first edition of NZ Herald Focus, launching at nzherald.co.nz at noon.
"Yes, Martin will be watching online - he told me he wouldn't miss it," McGoldrick said. "I took him to the airport at 4am on Thursday for his flight to India. We only found out the night before he was going."
McGoldrick will host the midday edition of NZ Herald Focus with former Campbell Live reporter Tristram Clayton.
