SYDNEY - Australian band Powderfinger will call it quits after more than 20 years together following a national tour later this year.
The Brisbane band has announced its biggest tour to date in September and October to farewell fans.
Titled Sunsets, the tour will visit 21 cities in every state and territory, supported by Jet and The Vines at different locations.
"The Sunsets tour will be Powderfinger's last ever run of shows," singer Bernard Fanning told media in Sydney on Friday morning.
"We have decided after much deliberation and agonising that after this final tour we will call it a day as a recording and touring band."
Tickets for Sunsets - The Farewell Tour go on sale at 9am on Friday April 30.
