The final day of Polyfest has been delayed until tomorrow due to the threat of Cyclone Lusi.
Organisers made the call on Saturday morning when it was feared Lusi would cause widespread havoc in Auckland. And while Lusi didn't hit as hard as first thought, the final day of the popular cultural festival will now go ahead at Manukau Sports Bowl tomorrow.
Event director Theresa Howard said it was the first time in the event's 39-year history that a day had to be postponed, but the decision had been made for safety reasons due to the threat of wild weather.
The schedule will be the same apart from the exclusion of Maori Stage division one competition, which went ahead on Saturday because of students' commitments at the national kapa haka competition this week.
