Police are to investigate Katie Price's claims that she was raped by a celebrity, it has been revealed.
Even though the glamour model has repeatedly refused to officially report the sexual assault – which she claims was carried out by a "famous celebrity" – officers are looking into the allegation.
A police spokeswoman said: "No report of a rape has been made to Surrey Police. Officers from Surrey Police have not yet spoken to her. However, officers will be following lines of enquiry into this offence."
Katie – whose divorce from singer Peter Andre will be finalised in five weeks – revealed she had been raped in her magazine column.
The confession sparked a media frenzy, prompting Katie to phone British TV show 'The Wright Stuff' this week and vow she would never reveal the identity of her attacker.
Shortly afterwards, she reportedly said the man's name while she was being filmed for her reality TV show, What Katie Did Next.
The show's entire production team has been sworn to secrecy to stop the attacker's identity becoming public.
A source said: "There is a three-line whip here. A handful of people know who it is but they are absolutely not allowed to even tell their loved ones."
