KEY POINTS:
We promise not to make any tantric sex jokes about Sting. For now, at least. But here's another riddle for you: how many bands can play Western Springs a second time more than 20 years on and still have pretty much the same set list? Not many, that's for sure, if any.
But the Police will do just that when the early 80s rock giants' reunion tour comes to New Zealand for two big outdoor shows this summer.
Lead singer Sting, guitarist Andy Summers and drummer Stewart Copeland will return to the Springs - which they filled back in early 1984 a year or two before splitting up - on Saturday January 19 (that's the night after the Big Day Out). They play at Wellington's Westpac Stadium on Thursday January 17.
The 1984 Springs concert was notable for how many people jumped the arena fence and avoided the police to see the Police. So if you're still feeling guilty about not paying, then best pony up for a ticket this time. They go on sale through Ticketek (Wellington) and Ticketmaster (Auckland) on Monday January 30.
