Bards from around the country will be turning in large numbers to mark Poetry Day next month.
Montana Poetry Day national coordinator Laura Kroetsch said the July 18 events were a "wonderful opportunity" to hear both celebrated and emerging artists.
Poetry related events for all ages would be staged in towns and cities from Northland to Orago and people did not need to be a regular poetry reader to enjoy the events, she said.
"[It] is all about breaking down perceptions of poetry as an untouchable medium.
The finalists in the poetry section of the 2008 Montana New Zealand Book Awards poetry would be announced with the winner revealed on July 21.
