Piers Morgan has accused Gayle King of acting like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's "PR mouthpiece".
King, who hosts CBS This Morning, is Oprah Winfrey's best friend and is also good friends with Harry and Meghan.
Earlier this week King revealed on TV that Prince Harry had spoken to Prince Charles and Prince William since his bombshell interview with Oprah aired.
"I did actually call them to see how they are feeling and it's true, Harry has talked to his brother and he has talked to his father, too," King revealed. "The word I was given was, those conversations were not productive."
King later revealed that Meghan and Harry were fully prepared to delay the Oprah interview going to air if Prince Philip's health worsened.
"They had done that interview before Prince Philip went into hospital and if something, God forbid, had happened to him, the interview would not have run at this particular time," King said. "But the interview was done and was scheduled before he went into the hospital."
King went on to defend Harry and Meghan and said the tell-all interview with Oprah was "very difficult for them to do".
"You're talking about your family, but I think they really wanted people to understand, it had to be really bad for you to leave your country – in Harry's case, leave your family," King said.
"Meghan went there with full intentions of this was going to be her life and she looked forward to that. But when people repeatedly lie when you are totally vilified and you are not protected even though you are told you will be protected. And then you're told you can't speak up on your own behalf – that's just nuts.
"Harry and Meghan both have been through so much for the past three years and they really have tried to work it out privately. They really have tried to get help and nothing was working."
King's royal revelations didn't sit well with Piers Morgan.
Hi @GayleKing - rather than acting as your Sussex friends’ PR mouthpiece to facilitate their ongoing public trashing of our Royal Family, how about doing your job as a journalist and ask them about all the lies they told in @Oprah’s interview? America should hear THE truth.

Morgan didn't specify what "lies" he thought the royal couple had told.
On Monday, I said I didn’t believe Meghan Markle in her Oprah interview. I’ve had time to reflect on this opinion, and I still don’t. If you did, OK. Freedom of speech is a hill I’m happy to die on. Thanks for all the love, and hate. I’m off to spend more time with my opinions. pic.twitter.com/bv6zpz4Roe
Morgan recently quit Good Morning Britain after he refused to apologise on air to Meghan Markle for his sustained attacks on her.
The 55-year-old TV personality has made it clear that he is not a fan of the Duchess and he didn't hold back when sharing his thoughts on her and Prince Harry's Oprah interview.
In one of several rants over the couple, Morgan took particular issue with Meghan's revelation that she suffered suicidal thoughts, declaring: "I don't believe a word she says."
