KEY POINTS:
PJ Harvey is bringing her love and a few murder ballads to New Zealand next year for one show only.
The British singer/songwriter, who has just released her seventh album White Chalk, will perform a solo show at the Civic Theatre on February 13.
In contrast to Harvey's other guitar-based releases, White Chalk is a piano-driven album but she will be playing songs from throughout her career which started back in 1992 with the release of Dry. Live reviews of her show from overseas report Harvey's piano is decorated with a family photo, a plastic stuffed animal, lights, and a metronome which she uses as a type of drum on new song, The Devil.
This will be a show not to be missed, and tickets go on sale on November 13 through Ticketek.
Meanwhile, Japan's King Brothers return for another show at the Kings Arms on December 12 with Atlanta rock'n'rollers the Black Lips who have been described as the Kinks meet Kings of Leon.
Then, next year, feel what it's like to be caught in a slow storm of rock'n'roll that you can't get out of when Minnesota band Low play the Kings Arms on January 9.
The band, made up of Alan Sparhawk, Mimi Parker and Matt Livingston, are touring in support of their latest album Drums and Guns.
