NEW YORK - A New York photographer has filed a lawsuit against actress Lindsay Lohan that claims she ran into him with her mother's BMW, his lawyer said on Wednesday.
Giovanni Arnold suffered "severe and permanent personal injuries and economic loss" on March 13 when the "Georgia Rules" actress hit him in the knees, according to the lawsuit, filed Thursday in Bronx County Supreme Court.
He is seeking compensation for his injuries and for lost income, since he has not been able to work after the incident in Manhattan's West Village neighbourhood, said his lawyer, Marc Mausser.
The car, a BMW, belonged to Lohan's mother, Dina Lohan, according to the lawsuit, which names both women.
A lawyer for the Lohans, Robert Stephan Cohen, was not immediately available for comment.
Mausser said the photographer was standing just two feet in front of the car when Lohan drove into him, throwing him onto the hood.
"The vehicle wasn't moving, and he was just going to take a picture," Mausser said.
He said Lohan left the scene in another vehicle but returned soon afterward.
Lohan, 20, shot to stardom as a young actress in Disney movies and is now one of the most photographed starlets in the world.
