They've played Pink Floyd, done drum'n'bass and performed with Bic Runga. Now, the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra will give singer-songwriter Don McGlashan a hand. Make that a warm hand.
McGlashan released his debut solo album, Warm Hand, last year and now turns to classical music for a summer picnic concert with the orchestra at the Villa Maria Vineyard Park in Mangere on February 11, starting at midday. Tickets are $75 and include a lunch hamper with wine.
Programme has favourites by Beethoven, Haydn and Tchaikovsky and Verdi and Puccini arias from Sarah-Ann Walker and Rachelle Pike.
