Oscar-winning New Zealand filmmaker Peter Jackson is saying goodbye to Middle-earth, but he'll always have a place in Hollywood.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced on Monday that Jackson will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on December 8.
The director behind the blockbuster Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies scored prime real estate on Hollywood, with his star sitting outside the Dolby Theatre, the home of the Academy Awards ceremonies.
"We are very happy to honour such an esteemed filmmaker as Peter Jackson with a star on the Walk of Fame," Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies, said.
"His groundbreaking and award-winning films are part of the legacy of larger-than-life, Hollywood-style entertainment that is beloved the world over."
