KEY POINTS:
Fear not - Peter Andre is not dead.
The former pop star has been forced to confirm he is still alive after internet reports circulated saying he died of meningitis last week, reports the Daily Mail.
The singer's website was flooded with messages of condolence as news of his apparent death spread.
34-year-old Andre was admitted to hospital ten days ago with suspected viral meningitis.
A spokesman for the Mysterious Girl singer told Daily Mail: "There has been a disgusting rumour circulating that Peter Andre has died. This is not true. Peter is feeling slightly better."
Andre's wife, glamour model Jordan, recently spoke out about her husband's illness, saying she felt guilty that she could not keep a constant bedside vigil.
The eight-month-pregnant model said it was not possible to stay with Andre as she had two children at home to look after.
The couple, who met on Britain's reality TV show I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, married in 2005.
They are currently filming a reality series for ITV, but filming has been halted while Andre recovers from his illness, according to the Daily Mail.
